book-club: feb26
feb 26 I am reading two books
- The Road to Serfdom by Friedrich Hayek (1944)
This book was written during World War 2 and is one of the most influential defenses of classical liberalism and free-market capitalism. The main idea is that central economic planning, no matter what, is shite. I have just read the introduction so far, but will add a post here every 2-3 days about my reading.
- The Case of Charles Dexter Ward by H.P Lovecraft (1927)
This is a shorter novel that is characterized as "gothic". It follows Charles Ward as he grows obsessed with his 18th century grandpa Joseph Curwen. I am about 40/160. I find it pretty good so far. Will post every 2-3 days about my reading.
